Okay look, I'm the kinda guy that knows his way around a sandwich. Been eaten 'em for years. For a long time I said Knockout Deli was the best sandwich place nearby and I was also a fan of that corner market deli near Seven Grand. But then I found The Girls Deli... Not only is it the only sandwich place I will order from now, it's pretty much the only place I've ordered from off Yelp in a couple of months. I've had four different sandwich sandwiches from there and they've all been great. Both hot and cold. I can't comment on the service or the ambience because I've never actually been there, but I will continue to order these sandwiches until further notice.

Great sandwiches and great service! They have a good combo deal too which can be applied to any chips/drink from the liquor store it's in. Would come back again!

Yelp Review of The Girls Deli (North Park) The Don's Take: Let me tell ya somethin'--today, me and the missus paid a little visit to The Girls Deli over in North Park. You wanna talk about a joint that's easy to find? Right there on El Cajon Blvd, like it's waitin' to be noticed. Walked in, no line--but get this--the crew was huddled up behind the counter like they'd been expectin' us. Sharp-eyed, ready to serve. Respect. Now, the food. These broads ain't playin' around. Sandwiches with names like they're straight outta the family tree--I went with The Mob (black Forest ham, spicy pepperoni, salami and provolone--fuggedaboutit), and the wife? She ordered a custom job like she was negotiatin' a peace treaty. Freshness? Top-tier. Flavors? Bangin'. Bread softer than a made man's ego. Only hiccup? The pepperoncini stems in her sandwich--no one likes a surprise, capisce? But even then? Five stars. We're comin' back. This place? Haunted? More like blessed. Captain 619's Two Cents (as relayed by The Don): Then there's my associate, Captain 619--San Diego's finest, loyal as they come. He rolls in, gives the joint the once-over. Orders The North Park Special, says it's got more layers than a Sicilian conspiracy. Oven-roasted turkey, Black Forest ham, sharp cheddar--stacked so high, you'd think it was a tribute. Guy's ravin' like he found the Holy Grail. "Boss," he tells me, "the bread's so fresh, it's like they baked it while I was walkin' in." Final Word: Listen--The Girls Deli? They're runnin' a tight ship. No funny business, just quality. You disrespect this place, you disrespect me. Capiche? Get in there, order smart, and tip like you mean it. Family approved. P.S. Tell 'em The Don sent ya. They'll know what it means.

The sandwiches from this place have easily become one of my new hyper fixations. I discovered this place off of Yelp after searching for places that offered pastrami, and have been hooked ever since. While "The Freak" did satisfy my pastrami craving, it was "The San Diegan Psycho" that ultimately got me HOOKED on their sandwiches. This place really knows how to layer and stuff a sandwich to ensure you get the best punch of flavors! I modified "The San Diegan Psycho" that I ordered by adding jalapeños and sriracha mayo to it, and I'm convinced that's what really sold it for me. First off, I'm aware that the content of the sandwich itself seems really simple, but the flavor profile of all the ingredients really marry together to create such a tasty sandwich. You get a pretty dense layer of turkey with a few strips of bacon layered on top, which is then layered with a balanced portion of finely shredded lettuce, avocado and melted pepper jack cheese. They also added in onions, but I chose to omit tomatoes, vinegar, and oil when the staff member asked if I would like those included. While these ingredients aren't listed on the menu for this sandwich, I believe it's their recommendation. Overall, dense sandwiches that can be shared if you don't have a big enough appetite for the whole thing. As for bread, you can choose what bread to have your sandwich made with. I usually go with their recommendation of the hoagie roll, and it has always been a great choice. (However, I didn't find leftovers of hot sandwiches with the hoagie roll to be as appetizing though as they get soggy.) I do wish their sandwiches came with pickles, but I've noticed during my last couple visits that they do have a jar of pickles off to the side. Whether that's up to self-service is still questionable. There's also a basket of complimentary candy (Jolly ranchers) for you to pick from. They also offer a good selection of chips, and their drinks are those that are available within the bodega itself. Regular and spicy mac salad, as well as potato salad are also offered in the side fridge. I've tried their spicy mac salad and found it to be enjoyable, but on the saucy side. The spiciness didn't alter the flavor in any way, as it was merely an aftertaste. Very unassuming spot as it's a hole-in-the wall joint. The deli counter is located at the back of the convenience store, and you're expected to pay up front with the cashier at the entrance once the deli gives you the slip receipt. Parking is not the best as there's no designated parking lot, but rather street parking.

If you haven't been here for a deli sandwich you are truly missing out. I feel like deli sandwiches have gotten a little more expensive these days but I will say it is always worth it because the size of these sandwiches are insane! This spot is inside of a liquor store kind of place and off of a busy street which makes it a little difficult. I highly suggest ordering ahead of time so you can run in and grab your order!

We were looking for somewhere to grab some lunch. We were going to go to one of our regulars but parking is next to nil now! And then I remembered The Girls.... Friendly hello, told to take my time, and if I had any questions, please ask! They have so many choices and it can be hard to decide. Scooter told me to get him the Club on sourdough. I did know what to get because everything sounded so good. I finally decided on The Hitman...london broil roast beef, bacon, and gouda....soooooo good!!! I didn't realize they had macaroni salad in a small refrigerator case which I grabbed after paying, and the most delicious chocolate chip cookie! Great place to come to! The shop has some of the most interesting items for sale. It's as if the owner has anticipated what people may need at the last minute.

Omg that was heavenly. I'm a sandwich snob and pretty particular - Girls Deli checked all the boxes for us. Great quality turkey (large portion of it too!), the finest shredded lettuce that was fresh and crisp, and a great baguette sub roll. They also will toast the bread and keep the meat cold. The sandwich portion was huge and the ratios of meat to veggies to bread were on point. This will be a new go-to sandwich spot for us!

Highly recommend! I will definitely be back! Our sandwiches/wraps were super tastyand the employees were allll very friendly! We did have to wait a bit, but I believe there is a way to order ahead. There is little seating outside and street parking right outside.

3.5/5 I'm a little confused by the rave reviews because I thought the sandwich here was pretty good, but nothing special. The sandwiches are pretty big, but it's also $16. SIXTEEN DOLLARS. For a sandwich! I know it's San Diego but you guys are wild here with the pricing. I had the San Diego Psycho & my husband had the Mob, which they said were their two most popular sandwiches. They said we "won't be disappointed." I wasn't disappointed, but I was underwhelmed. I rounded up my score to 4 stars because like I said, it was still a decent sandwich. But it also wasn't THAT good, and I don't see any reason to go back when Ike's Place and BFD are nearby.
